Why ISTE?
In 2020, when schools moved to remote and concurrent teaching, IRSD teachers took on the challenge of learning many new instructional technology tools. Moving forward, our Department of Instruction saw the need to provide further learning opportunities that validated the time teachers spent in learning new technology while building their expertise in using instructional technology to support students.
ISTE-U's online courses focus on pedagogy before technology. Because they are asynchronous, teachers can learn at a time that works best for them. The video provides further explanation of why we've partnered with ISTE.

ISTE-U courses aligned with skills from DTGSS (Delaware Teacher Growth Support System)
In August 2021, ISTE lead teachers and administrators met to make connections between the ISTE-U courses and the core teaching skills listed in the DTGSS evaluation framework. The end product was a series of documents staff can use to search for resources to support specific skills. That crosswalk can be found here.
