08 AUGUST 2024 - To highlight the achievements of the REMET-Rice project, the team organized a Field Day event on 8 August 2024, at the Experiment Station of IRRI, Los Baños, Philippines. This event strengthened the project team’s engagement with internal IRRI partners through an experimental field tour and discussions on project progress and future plans for 2025 and 2026. Additionally, it served as a valuable platform for knowledge exchange, fostering collaboration with the rice science community at IRRI and key stakeholders, including UPLB.

IRRI welcomed several visitors and guests, facilitating discussions on potential collaborations while showcasing its climate change research initiatives. During their visit, guests engaged in meetings with IRRI scientists to exchange ideas and explore synergies across various projects. Field tours provided valuable insights into ongoing research efforts.

During the REMET-Rice field visit, the visitors learned about manual and automatic greenhouse gas (GHG) sampling. The project team demonstrated collection techniques, chamber placement to reduce variability, and the use of laser-based analyzers for automatic sampling.
