About Me

My name is Karen Illian and I'm honored  to have your student in my class this year.  I was born and raised in Tulsa, Oklahoma and graduated from Florida State University with a Bachelor's of Science in Secondary English Education where I competed for the Seminoles as a heptathlete and javelin thrower.  I received a Master's in Education in Health and Human Performance from McNeese State University.  I coached collegiate track and field for many years before staying home to raise our two daughters, Izzy and Abby.  My husband, Travis, is a strength and conditioning coach which has led our family to live and experience beautiful Mississippi, Alabama, Connecticut and Texas.  We feel blessed to now call Cedar City our home!  I love to help students and athletes reach their potential while having fun in the process.  When I am not at school, I enjoy being at the track and spending time with my family outdoors.
