Mrs. Mitchell

Teaching 5th grade is a joy for me. I love watching the progress and growth in my students as we share a school year together. I can't help but love each one of them for their fun personalities and unique learning styles. They become a part of my heart and I carry them with me always. I will continue to think of them as "one of my kids" even when they are grown and have long since left my classroom. Each year I learn from my students and strive to improve my teaching. I excitedly look forward to each new school year with anticipation to begin again with new goals to fulfill and a new group of students to love and care for. Classroom management is important to me so that my students have a safe environment to learn, grow, and feel comfortable and confident in. I love to read to my students and this quickly becomes a favorite time of day for all of us. I like to laugh and have fun with my students as they share with me the things they love. One of my favorite things about 5th grade is the “Patriot Award”. It is so fun for me to watch the excitement in my students as they pass off tasks and realize that they really can do hard things. I look forward to this school year with excitement and I have high hopes for an great year together.
