The Iron County School District has partnered with Southern Utah University (SUU) to help Iron County School District students in grades K-12 with mental health support during the months school is out of session.

What: Free mental health support for current Iron County School District students in grades K-12. The therapist is a qualified psychologists-in-training who is supervised by a licensed full-time or adjunct faculty in the Department of Psychology at SUU.
When: During the months of June and July. Appointment availability is limited.
Where: Iron County School District (2077 W. Royal Hunte Drive) Across the street from the Cedar City Aquatic Center.
How: To schedule a 45 minute appointment, click on the "Appointment Registration" button below. A parent or guardian must be present for the duration of the appointment. A new consent form must be completed for summer counseling services.
Anderson will be entering his third year as a student in the Southern Utah University Doctoral Program in Clinical Psychology. Anderson is originally from Salt Lake City, Utah and completed a B.S. in Psychology and a B.A. in Japanese at the University of Utah in 2017. Anderson has previously worked in an inpatient psychiatric unit at the University of Utah and enjoys working with children, adolescents, and their families through a skills-based approach to managing life stressors through emotional regulation, distress tolerance, interpersonal effectiveness, and other problem solving methods.

Tyler is beginning his fourth year of doctoral studies in Clinical Psychology at Southern Utah University. A native of Roy, Utah, he earned his B.A. in Psychology with a Family Services minor from Southern Utah University in 2021. Tyler finds fulfillment in supporting children and adolescents through their developmental challenges by fostering resilience, building coping strategies, and enhancing their self-regulation skills to navigate life's complexities.
