Max Spence is a former NCAA Division I distance runner who competed for Southern Utah University. He achieved personal bests of 1:51 in the 800m and 3:43 in the 1500m and competed at the NCAA Cross Country Championships in 2022. Max contributed to Southern Utah University’s team success from 2017-2023. Max’s competitive running career has lead to his passion for the sport and promoting a positive environment for his athletes. Max holds a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science and a master’s degree in Sports Conditioning and Performance, equipping him with a strong foundation in athlete development, injury prevention, and dedication to the sport. Prior to joining Cedar High, Max coached at Southern Utah University and worked with private clients, creating customized training plans that helped runners of all abilities achieve their running goals. As a coach, Max is passionate about fostering a positive team environment, building resilience, and helping athletes excel on and off the track.
