Coach Illian has enjoyed being around the track as an athlete and coach for over 30 years. She competed collegiately at Florida State University as a javelin thrower and heptathlete and was part of Florida State's first ever ACC Championship team, receiving all conference honors in both events. She was an NCAA National Championship qualifier in the javelin and received eight All Conference honors. She began her coaching career at Jacksonville University and continued to coach throwers and multi event athletes at McNeese State University, Mississippi State University and the The University of Connecticut. She had four NCAA national qualifiers, one USA National Championships qualifier, nine NCAA regional qualifiers, and twelve All Conference honors among her athletes.
Illian received a BS from Florida State University in English Education before receiving a MA in Exercise Physiology from McNeese State University. She is USA Track and Field Level II certified in the throws and multi events.
She is excited to serve as the high jump coach for Cedar High and spend time with the sprint and throwing groups. When she is not out on the track, she enjoys being a part of the South Elementary family as a first grade teacher and spending time with her family.
