Coach Sam Elliott was an all-state football player in 1994 for Coach Todd Peacock and a two-time state champion in the long jump and 4x100 meter relay. After an LDS mission to Italy, Elliott took his talents to Southern Utah University to play football, where he was a 4-year starter and honorable mention All-American kick returner for the T-Birds. After finishing at SUU, Elliott began his coaching journey in 2001 at Cedar High School. He left Cedar in 2004, becoming the Head Football Coach at Tooele High School, followed by a move to Union High School as their Coach. In 2012 Elliott returned to Southern Utah and worked with the football team as an assistant coach until 2022. Coach Elliott decided to return to Cedar High School and share his knowledge, experience, and passion for performance with the Reds student-athletes. He is currently a football coach for Tye Hiatt and a long jump coach for the track program.
