1. Identify problem areas and isolate them. Focus on what needs to be fixed.
2. Start with your eyes, not your hands and fingerings. Analyze musical phrases with your eyes and brain first.
3. Slow down. Slow, accurate practice is good practice.
4. Use a pencil to mark your music: reminders, accidentals, fingerings, counting rhythms, dynamics, etc.
5. Tone. Practice with a high quality sound.
