Berkshire Féile
Elks Lodge
27 Union Street
Pittsfield, MA
The Berkshire Féile is an annual competition hosted by Scoil Rince Bréifne Ó Ruairc. All of our dancers are eligible to enter this competition, along with dancers from other schools. Our judge, Ms Kay Keeley, ADCRN, will be traveling from Dublin. Participating in this event is a great way to see what an Irish dance competition is like without the stress and expense of travel. There will be competitions for dancers of all levels and ages, even brand-new beginners.
Here are some ways you can get involved:
Talk to your dancer about their interest in entering the competition. It's optional!
The Berkshire Féile is mandatory for dancers enrolled in Term 1 of Foireann Cavan, our competition team
Volunteer to help with preparations, either in the weeks leading up to the event, with setup the evening before, or during the event. Volunteer slots are listed on this Signup Genius form
Donate an item to our raffle. See raffle basket ideas here
Help us secure event sponsors by sharing this form with anyone you think might be interested in supporting our event
Attend the event and watch the competitions. Even if your dancer doesn't feel ready to compete yet, they should still take advantage of this opportunity to see a competition without the need to travel. In addition, they get to support their teammates!
Order a Berkshire Feile t-shirt, designed by our dancer Evelyn Rathbun and 413Shirts
Send a sweet treat and words of encouragement to your Berkshire Feile competitor by ordering a cookie gram. Cookies will be made by Alison Quinones-Johnson. Choose from a ghillie, a fall leaf, or a shamrock. Allergy-friendly options available
Registration is open, and late fees are in effect. Enter your dancer at https://crn.feishost.com/
In addition, on Sunday, October 15:
We are offering a dance workshop for ardghrad level dancers (Crowns class) and Foireann Cavan (competition team) with the adjudicator, Kay Keeley
We are organizing a gathering at Balderdash Cellars in the afternoon

What's a féile?
"Féile" (pronounced FAY-luh) means "festival" in Irish. In Cumann Rince Náisiúnta (CRN), the Irish dance organization of which Jennie is a member, a féile is an Irish dance competition with 1 or 2 adjudicators. A feis (pronounced FESH) is a competition with 3 or more adjudicators
Competitions offer solo and team dance events for multiple skill levels, each further divided by age groups
