Berkshire Féile

The Berkshire Féile is an annual competition hosted by Scoil Rince Bréifne Ó Ruairc. All of our dancers are eligible to enter this competition, along with dancers from other schools. Our judge will be traveling to Pittsfield from Ireland. Participating in this event is a great way to see what an Irish dance competition is like without the stress and expense of travel. There will be competitions for dancers of all levels and ages, even brand-new beginners. 

Here are some ways you can get involved:

• Talk to your dancer about their interest in entering the competition. It's optional!

  • The Berkshire Féile is mandatory for dancers who have committed to Foireann Cavan, our competition team

• Volunteer to help, either in the weeks leading up to the event, with setup the evening before, or during/after the event. Volunteer slots are listed on this Signup Genius form

• Donate an item to our raffle. See raffle basket ideas here

• Attend the event and watch the competitions. Even if your dancer doesn't feel ready to compete yet, they should still take advantage of this opportunity to see a competition without the need to travel. In addition, they get to support their teammates!

• Order a Berkshire Feile t-shirt. Orders are due by September 22

• Send a sweet treat and words of encouragement to your Berkshire Feile competitor by ordering a cookie gram. Cookies will be made by Alison Quinones-Johnson. Choose from a ghillie, a fall leaf, or a shamrock. Allergy-friendly options available. Orders are due by September 22

Registration is open. The syllabus is available here. If your dancer is interested in participating, let Jennie know by completing the Competition Signup Form. Then, she will recommend which competitions your dancer should enter, and you can register them here. Entries are due by September 20. Late entries will be accepted September 21-26 (with late fees). No entries will be accepted after September 26.
