Dear Families,
Philadelphia Primary has to have a plan IF we are directed to participate in remote learning. Here are the steps that we will take together to ensure your child receives instruction daily.
Your child has paper copies of work to be done during a remote instruction day. They are located in their backpacks in a plastic bag.
Your child will be expected to complete Day 1 work on the first day of remote instruction, then in sequential order, if we have more than one remote learning day.
If your child is sick on a remote learning day, simply message me through Parent Square, and they will be excused from doing any remote learning work and will be marked as absent, just like a regular school day.
If something goes wrong with the internet connection, or any struggles that often occur with remote learning, please don’t worry! Just message me through Parent Square and have your child complete the Day 1(or appropriate day) packet and return them to school(when we return) so I can have the office mark them as present on the remote day.
If your child receives services from other providers such as reading, math, speech, etc. They will be contacting you to schedule a time to meet that works for your child.
Our Google Meet link is at the top of our Google Classroom, we have been practicing this in class. If you try to join a meeting too early, it will not let you in because the teacher must enter the meeting first.
9:00- 9:30: Special #1- Check under the Classwork tab in our Google Classroom. You may click on a special area lesson. Some teachers did not give me links yet!
9:30-10:00: Special #2
10:00-10:15: Google Meet Morning Meeting(on our Google Classroom) and Math Review Lesson 1
10:15-10:30: ELA Lesson 1 with some guided reading
*Note: If this is weather related and the teacher cannot get to school, the meeting will be short because I would not have my document camera at home.
11:00-12:00: My office hour, only if your child needs help with the remote work! This is on the Google Meet link.
The following is a guide, please do what works for your family!
10:30-3:30
Your child can do the following:
____ All remote paperwork is completed and in their backpack to return.
____ Work on IXL Math, and follow the recommendations, this will help them to be on grade level or above in all math areas.
____ Read a book in a quiet location
