Hello, I am Mrs. Wicks

This is my 22nd year of instruction at Indian River! I provide math Academic Intervention Services (AIS) for children in Kindergarten-3rd grade at Theresa Primary School. I also lead the Green Team in the collection of recycled paper, markers, and crayons.

I have lived in Theresa since I was 2 years old. I attended Theresa Primary School when it was a K-6th grade school, and graduated from Indian River High School in 1988. My husband Chris and I have been married 29 years. Our 2 grown daughters are Michaela and Natalie, and our grandson is Eli. We have 2 pets, a cat named Bella, and a mini lion head rabbit named Rascal Peeps!

Hello 1st grade friends!

I hope you are all home safe and happy. I am enjoying my family and the fresh Spring air. I thought you may like a fun math activity, so I came up with a scavenger hunt for you and your family. You can do this inside or outside, or both if you like. The following are objects you can use to find and count. You can include other objects too, or take off whatever ones you don't want to use.

windows

doors

pillows

light switches

pets

vehicles

stairs

people

books

feet

After counting objects try making different combinations to add together. Example: add the doors + pets=,

or stairs + feet=

Remember to put the bigger number in your head and count on.

Remember when adding put the bigger number in your head and count on. When subtracting be sure the greatest number is first.
