Indian River School District is committed to providing a high quality education that will inspire all students to be impactful citizens and who contribute to the world around them as noted in our Strategic Plan. We provide this through our various school buildings and with certified teaching staff. However, we understand that sometimes families choose to provide a student's education at home. Indian River Central School District does not have a remote instruction option without documented health conditions. Which is to say, the only legal option afforded to families is a formal "Home Schooling" program, as specified in Section 100.10 of Education Law.
Below you will notice a number of resources to support you in your journey of homeschooling. Please note that you must download your own copy of these forms to fill them out. All of our homeschooling families must submit an Individualized Home Instruction Plan (IHIP) for each student including a plan for when to expect your quarterly reports and what will be used as the annual assessment every year. Requirements for each grade band are included within the packets provided below. These forms may be submitted by email to jeanreed@ircsd.org and will be reviewed by the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction.
Families interested in pursuing a Home Schooling Program should contact the Office of the Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction at 315-642-3441, extension 11263.
