Class overview:
In 7th grade English Language Arts, it is vital to develop a strong community of learners and to spark your interest in language arts, reading and writing. To focus your listening and speaking skills, you will be involved in small group discussions and class presentions.
English Language Arts is speaking, listening, reading and writing.

About Ms. Canell
This is my 29th year at IRMS as an ELA teacher. I live in the 1000 Islands and love the beauty of the St. Lawrence River. I am a mom to three amazing children (two sons and a daughter) and an extended mom to two daughter's-in-law. I also have two grandchildren.
I'm looking forward to an fun-filled year of learning with my students!

I use Google Classroom as a way to post homework, assessments, and other assignments. Please ask your student to show you my Google Classrooms for more information about my class!
You may request a parent-teacher conference any time. Please call Student Services to set up an appointment at (315) 642-0125.
There will be HW Club after school on Tuesday and Thursday. You may also get extra help during afternoon WIN time with a pre-signed pass.
I will keep all of your class work in an ELA Portfolio, which you may take home at the end of the year in June.
