The Antwerp Primary PTO is the Parent Teacher Organization which is meant to create a strong collaboration between families and staff. We aim to build an environment where our children and students can thrive. This work cannot be possible without the support of caregivers, adults at home, and the volunteer contributions of people just like you!
The future of the Antwerp PTO is in your hands. Given the previous, and in some cases ongoing, impacts of the recent pandemic our PTO has met many challenges over the last few years. We are hoping for a renewed interest and involvement by reconnecting with families through this program and make our school community and experiences. We invite your to join us on our journey of spending time with each other at the school; learning more about one another through events; and providing support to strengthen our school and community.
The PTO works with parents and staff to organize, fund and facilitate events both during and after school hours that serve to enrich our children’s educational experiences and build a stronger community.
Some of the programs the PTO is hoping to support may include:
Cultural Events
Academic Enrichments
Curriculum Fair
Grade- Level Events
Teacher Appreciation and Hospitality
Fun Run
Picture Day
Book Fairs
PTO Meetings are the 1st Wednesday of school attendance each month. As of now these are scheduled at 8:15am. We are open to flexibility of morning or afternoon and possibly virtual attendees depending on interest and availability.
Monthly PTO meetings provide a place for caregivers to come together to learn more about what the PTO is doing, provide feedback, and find ways to get involved. Each meeting will start with an update of past work and opportunities to share and reflect on community happenings. We will highlight upcoming events and opportunities to participate. Then, again depending on volunteer participation, we will break out into Committee Groups (Fundraising, Community Engagement, Academic Enrichment & Community Service, Teacher Support, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion & Belonging, Finance/Administration) to focus on current and ongoing committee work.
Your voice is important in ensuring that our PTO represents all students and families.
Your child feels a sense of pride to know that their caregiver is engaged in making the school community strong.
You get to meet and work with wonderful people!
You stay updated and informed on what is going on at our school.
You can more effectively suggest improvements for our school.
Everyone has different strengths, talents, values, experiences and perspectives. Everyone has something unique to offer our school and our children!
We have opportunities to volunteer for all commitment levels. Some duties can be performed from home and some require your presence at the school. There are one-time volunteer efforts, seasonal ones, event-based opportunities and ongoing efforts. Some volunteer opportunities work well if you decide to do them with a partner or friend.
