The Seal of Biliteracy is a recognition given to graduating high school students who have demonstrated a high level of proficiency in standard academic English and an additional language (reading, listening, writing and speaking). The Seal of Biliteracy will then appear on the transcript or diploma of the graduating senior and is a statement of accomplishment for future employers and for college admissions.
Students who demonstrate significant progress toward a high level of proficiency may be recognized with a State Commendation Toward Biliteracy, indicated on their transcript.
