Personal
I was born in Chicago and attended elementary, middle and high school in the Naperville School Districts. (Neuqua Valley Graduate 2003. Go Wildcats!)
My husband is a PE Teacher and Soccer Coach for Oswego School District 308. We also have a sweet little boy named William who is 9 months old!
I am extremely active! I enjoy running 10K's and half marathons. Additionally, I love to swim, practice yoga and do ballet.
I love to travel. It opens up the heart, provides a new set of eyes in which to view the world, and inspires creativity! One of my favorite museums is the Dublin Writer's Museum!
Professional
I have a Master's Degree in Language, Literacy, and Specialized Instruction from Depaul University. I am a licensed Reading Specialist K-12, Technology Specialist, and a licensed Gifted Teacher, too. Additionally, I have earned an additional 60 hours beyond my master's degree in coursework.
I have a diverse teaching background. I have taught all grade levels in Indiana and Year Six (Fifth Grade Equivalent) in Surrey, England. Additionally, I have also taught for 8 years in fifth and third grade at Peterson Elementary School! This is my sixth year teaching Project Arrow at Owen Elementary School and I am so thrilled to be a part of the Owen team!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Indiana Hoosiers and DePaul University! Indiana University--Bloomington is my Alma Mater (undergraduate). I am a huge IU fan... especially when it comes to Basketball!
Two of my favorite books for intermediate students are Where I Live by Eileen Spinelli and Go Jump in the Pool! by Gordon Korman.
I am eager to start the year! I am blessed to have the best job in the world working with great kids, a talented staff, and a phenomenal parent community! I cherish the inspirational moments I have on a daily basis. I can't wait to meet you all and partner alongside you in your child's education. Go OWLS!
