Neuqua Valley STEM
Purpose
The purpose of this website is to inform students and parents of the STEM-related clubs at Neuqua Valley High School as well as other STEM outreach programs that are available to students throughout the year/summer months. NVHS STEM is not it's own club or activity but rather a place to come for information for students interested to gain outside experience in STEM to learn more about specific fields, participate in competitions, join community outreach programs, and/or apply to community/ national programs/internships. Please peruse this site and direct any questions to Suzanne Smart (suzanne_smart@ipsd.org) and I will be glad to guide you as to how to take advantage of these many opportunities.
**PLEASE NOTE THAT SOME OF THE INTERNSHIPS/RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES HAVE APPLICATION DEADLINES. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO FOLLOW ALL INSTRUCTIONS/DEADLINES FOR THE EXPERIENCE YOU ARE APPLYING FOR.

Getting Involved
School Clubs/Activities

Internships/Camps/Research Opportunities
With the exception of Argonne Research, most internship/camps/research opportunities are for individual students and are not sponsored/supervised by a teacher or club sponsor/coach. When a student applies for these, be advised you may be required to:
pay a fee
submit an application
***Submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher/employer (see #2 for how to do this!)
committ to multiple days/weeks
provide your own transportation
responsible for all requirements pertaining to the experience
When a letter of recommendation is required for any internship/camp/research experience
fill out this Letter of Recommendation form
email the teacher/coach/sponsor you would like to have write your letter of recommendation SAMPLE EMAIL
give at least 2-3 weeks notice to your recommender
Group Projects/Research Teams
Some businesses, industries may sponsor group projects that will require a select group/number of students. These project details, when they are made available, will be posted here along with specific information as to how you can join.
