Come to the LMC with a purpose in mind (such as: book checkout, book return, research, a question, etc.). If students do not have a pass, they will be sent back to the classroom.
Speak in a quiet voice if you need to communicate with other students or library staff.
Use a shelf marker to mark the place on the shelf where you remove a book. If you do not choose that book, put it back in the same place. When you have made up your selection, return the shelf marker to the plastic container on the circulation desk.
If you need to use the restroom while in the LMC, please ask permission from an adult and get a pass at the circulation desk.
Take care of library materials. Handle them with clean hands and do not treat them roughly.
After using reference books or magazines, return them to the proper place.
Borrowed materials should be returned on time! Overdue items must be returned before other checkouts are allowed.
Students are expected to cover the cost of replacing a damaged or lost material.
Checkout privileges will be suspended until the replacement cost of a damaged book has been received.
A letter will be sent home indicating the cost of replacing or repairing materials.
If the lost item is found later, the payment will be refunded within the same school year.
Library cards are to be kept in the classroom (except Kindergarten students)
Keeping the card in a good condition is the responsibility of the student.
The LMC staff should be notified if a card is lost or damaged.
There is no cost to replace a library card.
