Series Review

The first thematized quiz was on the theme: “Global Climate Change”. Climate change is a burning issue as we have seen a lot of disasters at this point in time whether it be in the case of forest fires, increasing sea levels, or weather extremities around us. Hence, this made it mandatory for us to cover the arena of global climate change to check the cognizance of the participants.

Ananta had chosen this "COVID-19 Awareness" as the next theme to spread awareness among people about this previously unknown virus. In this time of crisis in the form of a pandemic, it was high time for everyone to be well informed about COVID-19.  

The other exciting quiz in the series was centralized about "Science behind our Quarantine Activities”. This was the time when people were locked up in their homes and to somehow reduce their boredom with a pinch of science, Ananta decided to come up with this quiz. The questions included under this theme were versatile in nature and focused on questions related to the sciences behind cooking, yoga, sports, musical instruments, and much more.

Students from different colleges enthusiastically took part in these 6 online quizzes, had put their science smarts under the microscope, and were timely applauded. Harshika Singh, Ojasvi Gupta, Neeha Rawat,  Parul Agarwal, Kritika, Payal, Anushka Bonia, Shweta Bhardwaj, Bharavi Yadav, Bushra, Kushagri were the team members who organized and volunteered actively in this series and made it successful under the constant guidance of our Coordinator, Ms. Ritu Singhal.

The series was structured to keep a perfect blend of scientific temperament and technological usage This was accompanied by brilliant efforts to spread awareness among the masses which started much before this period when we are bound to use online media to spread educational consciousness.

Starting from 19th July 2020, Ananta introduced self-evaluatory survey quizzes through Google forms along with organizing the next online quiz on the theme - " Cyber Security". The event was marked in the calendar as another official event where we managed to reach out to a larger group of students via our official Instagram page and along with our survey quizzes. 

The Quiz for Self-evaluation and Awareness was floated to record responses from students on few trivial yet intriguing questions. Our prime concern this time was to extend to our audience beyond those active on Instagram and to spread knowledge regarding Cyber Security among everyone. 

The Society now looks forward to organizing department-wise quizzes to incorporate each department's perspective towards science. The first in this series, by the Economics Department, on the topic "Dynamic Growth: Unlocking India's Potential" was conducted on 14th August 2020. Next was by Maths Department- "Brain Teasers- The Mental Maths Quiz" held on 14th September 2020. The "Nature v/s Man: The Dynamics of Panchtatva" quiz was conducted on 14th October 2020 by the Geography Department. The Psychology Department conducted the next quiz in line, " Myths v/s Fact in Psychology " on 17th November 2020.

We welcomed the new year with yet another live quiz by the Computer Science Department, "Artificial Intelligence: Creating the Future" on 14th January 2021. Next, a quiz on 'Geographical Facts- Knowing the Earth' was conducted on 14th March 2021. We had a fun and interesting quiz next on 17th April 2021 with the theme of "Astronomy: the mathematical aspect" by the Mathematics department.  Just when everyone was talking about digital currencies, the Economics department came up with a quiz on "The Fundamentals of Cryptocurrency" which was conducted on 30th June 2021. The next quiz in line, by Psychology Department, on the topic  "Positive emotional cognitive states and processes", was conducted on 28th July 2021.

The Geography department puts the next quiz in line on the topic " Environment and Technologies" on 20th September 2021, to test the knowledge about the technologies which can fulfill human demands and can reduce their negative impacts on the environment. The next quiz was "Space Science and Memory Technology ", conducted on 16th October 2021 by the Mathematics Department. 

To warm up everyone's brains before the winter season, another quiz: 'Mastering the Mind: Memory and Perception',  was conducted on 20th November 2021 by the Psychology Department, to lay emphasis on how Memory and Perception have existed since the origin of mankind, for how the mind has never been distinct from the body. The quiz helped in decoding certain myths around the mental process.

With the new year, Ananta brings back its another monthly quiz Inquizitors XV on the theme Adolescent Development and Challenges, on 25th January 2022. The quiz aimed to test the understanding of the Adolescent stage better in terms of physical, social, and emotional domains.

To test one's knowledge of the Union Budget of India, the Economics department of Ananta brought another quiz titled 'Econ-o-budget', on the 2nd of April, 2022. The quiz aimed to make sure everyone is up-to-date with the Budget of the country.

As the 'Metaverse' has undoubtedly unfolded its prospects of becoming the next big social networking space, the Computer Science Department conducted a quiz on this trending topic on 3rd May, 2022. The aim of the quiz was to provide a better understanding of the online world to the students.
