World Wetlands Day 2015

Students and Faculty of IP College invited to participate in World Wetlands' Day celebration by and at the Yamuna Biodiversity Park

2nd February 2015: The students and faculty of IP College were invited to the Yamuna Biodiversity Park for celebrating the World Wetlands Day on 2nd February, 2015. The theme of the World Wetlands Day 2015 was Wetlands for our Future.

Students, mainly from B.A. (Programme) First Year, participated in the celebrations at Yamuna Biodiversity Park along with Dr. Govind Singh, who was also an invited speaker during the inaugural ceremony of the celebrations. Other eminent speakers present on the occasion included Prof. Javed Ahmed of Jamia Hamdard University, Dr. R.S Sharma of University of Delhi, Dr. M.Shah Hussain of Aravalli Biodivesity Park, Dr. Gopinath, DCF of Forest Department, Government of NCT of Delhi, Mr. Ranjit Lal among others.

The interactions of students with the eminent speakers during and after the inaugural ceremony proved to be a good learning experience for them. The experience of visiting a nature reserve full of biodiversity further proved to be a motivation for the students and made them more aware and sensitive towards nature and natural resources.
