Green Audit and Tree Census of IP College Campus (Filed on 12/09/2015)
The IP College campus is a biodiversity rich beautiful green campus which adds to the experience of the students (and staff and faculty) during the time that they spend in the college. The College should therefore declare itself a Green College, one which highlights the principles of sustainability. However, before declaring the College as a ‘Green College’, it becomes important to carry out a sustainability assessment and a green audit of the college campus.
With this as the backdrop, the Department of Environmental Studies initiated a Self-Assessed Green Audit (SAGA) project to carry out the above mentioned green audit of IP College. Student-volunteers were invited and a team of eight students mainly from the Economics Department have been working on this project since August 2015.
