Summit Goals

We hope and believe this summit will serve as a springboard, vaulting individual family engagement efforts forward in a more aligned, coordinated and collaborative way for greater overall impact in the future. Specifically, we hope to accomplish the following goals:

  • Create a clear sense of shared purpose. We believe a shared sense of quality family engagement can help develop a field of practice that will benefit families, children and those working in partnership with them.
  • Share learnings and best practices. Family engagement is happening in a broad range of settings, from schools and pediatrician offices to local YMCA and neighborhood community centers.
  • Bring parents in as partners. From the planning of the event, to the execution throughout the day, we believe it is important to involve parents/family members as partners, hence the name, Families at the Center.
  • Expand the leaders involved in the field. From philanthropy around the state/country to local school districts and county agencies, we see the summit as an opportunity to deepen partnerships around family engagement.
