How do I access the members only resources?
Your access to these resources is determined by your email address in the IOLI Members email list. IOLI uses Google to authenticate against the members list. To verify that you are a member, you must be logged in to a Google account with the email address (not necessarily a Gmail address) at which you receive email announcements from IOLI. (If you are not on the IOLI members email list, you will not be able to access these resources.)
If the email address you provided IOLI is a GMail (or GSuite) account, you’re all set! As long as you’re logged in to Google with that account, you’ll be able to access the members-only resources. (If you have multiple Google accounts, see these instructions for switching between accounts without signing out and signing back in.)
If the email address you provided IOLI is an alternate address for a Google account, as long as you’re logged in to Google with that account, you’ll be able to access the members-only resources.
If you already have a Google account, but it’s associated with a different email address, or a GMail account you didn’t use for IOLI, you can either:
...ask the IOLI Membership chair to change the email address we use to contact you. Once your address has been changed on the membership email list, you will be able to access the members-only resources.
...or you can add your current email address as an alternate address for your existing Google account. Follow these instructions. (More detailed walkthrough) (IOLI cannot do this for you.) (Note: This method will fail if your current IOLI contact email is a GSuite address, or is already associated with another Google account.)
If you don’t have a Google account, you can create one using the address IOLI has for you here. (NOTE: !!>>IOLI cannot recover this account for you if you forget the password!<<!! Be sure to set account recovery options!) (Note: You will not be able to create a Google account using your IOLI contact email if your current IOLI contact email is a GSuite address, or is already associated with another Google account.)
If you do not wish to use a Google account to authenticate your IOLI membership, you will not be able to access the members-only resources at this time.
If you are logged in to multiple Google accounts when you click the link to continue to the members-only resources, you may get an error. In this case, try logging out of all other Google accounts before you click the link.
