Deflection Head
Deflection heads are built top of the metal partitions and Shaft/riser walls when needing to allow for structural vertical movement within the concrete structure.
There are two types of Deflection Head system:
Fire Rated is used at the detail of drywall partition systems to stop fire 30min to 120min one side to other side, fire rated deflection head are built in houses hallways/apartment lobby area/building party walls.
Non-Fire Rated is used at the detail of drywall partition systems to stop fire 15min to 30min one side to other side.
