Finding the right person to walk alongside you matters. Therapy is personal, and we believe feeling comfortable, understood, and respected by the person you're working with is an important part of the process.
Our team brings different experiences, training, strengths, and perspectives to the care we provide, and we share a commitment to seeing and caring for the whole person. Take a little time to get to know us and find the support that feels right for you.

Founder & Licensed Professional Counselor
Hi, I'm Lauren, and I'm so glad you're here.
I believe people make more sense when we take the time to understand the whole story. The way we think, feel, respond, and relate to others doesn't develop in isolation. Our experiences, relationships, environment, strengths, struggles, and even the ways we've learned to survive difficult seasons all become part of that story. In counseling, I want to create a place where you can slow down, feel understood, and begin making sense of your own story without being reduced to a diagnosis or the hardest thing you've been through.
I earned my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Louisiana State University in Shreveport and my Master's degree in Counseling from East Texas Baptist University. I began my career at Burke in Nacogdoches, where I gained extensive experience working with both children and adults, and later provided therapy services throughout Shelby and Panola Counties at a Federally Qualified Health Center.
Those experiences also allowed me to see firsthand how difficult it can be to access mental health care in rural communities. Intentional Mental Health & Wellness grew from a desire to help change that—not simply by bringing more services to our area, but by creating a place where people and families can feel known, welcomed, and genuinely cared for close to home.
I love this community and the people who call it home. Whether I'm working with a child trying to understand big emotions, an adult who is beginning to understand themselves differently, or a family trying to find a healthier way forward, my hope is that counseling becomes a place where there is room for honesty, growth, grace, and meaningful change.
Areas of Focus:

Care at Intentional begins before you ever sit down for a counseling session. Our support team helps keep things running behind the scenes and works to make each step—from your first questions to scheduling and ongoing care—feel a little easier.
We're grateful for the people who help make Intentional a welcoming place for the individuals and families we serve.
Office Manager
Jaylee is often one of the first friendly faces or voices you'll encounter at Intentional Mental Health & Wellness. She helps clients and families navigate registration, scheduling, insurance questions, and the everyday details that help care run smoothly.
Jaylee understands that reaching out for counseling can sometimes feel unfamiliar or overwhelming, and she works to make the process feel welcoming and straightforward from the very beginning. Whether you're scheduling an appointment, have a question about what comes next, or simply aren't sure who to ask, Jaylee is here to help you find your way.
Behind the scenes, Jaylee helps keep Intentional organized and moving while supporting both our clients and the work of the practice. We're grateful to have her as part of the Intentional family.
