Many of the people I work with feel weighed down by painful past experiences, whether from their childhood or from patterns that keep showing up in their relationships. Sometimes it may feel like their emotions to take the lead, or that they're stuck in cycles they can't seem to shift. No matter your experience, you are not broken, nor do you need to be fixed. You hold the answers within you. My aim is to offer you a warm, non-judgmental space where we can explore these challenges together, so you don't have to walk this path alone. I believe you are the expert in your own life.
Psychotherapy is about uncovering your inner resources, rebuilding trust in yourself, and reconnecting with the parts of you that may feel lost or silenced, at a pace that feels right for you. I ground this important work in Internal Family Systems (IFS / parts-work); Relational-Psychodynamic; Attachment-Based; Dialectical Behavioural (DBT); Somatic & Applied Polyvagal; and Emotion Focussed Trauma Therapy (EFT) treatment modalities, to help you identify patterns shaped by early life experiences and develop secure ways of relating to yourself and those around you. Together, we will focus on what matters most to you, whether that's finding more ease in the present, feeling more connected in your relationships, or strengthening trust in yourself and your inner wisdom.
I take an approach to treatment that is empathetic, collaborative, and personalized to best fit your needs. I help clients to navigate self-esteem and identity; emotion, mood or behavioural issues; relationship and attachment challenges; grief and loss; depression; anxiety; ADHD; BPD; and more. I am especially passionate about working with people who suspect they have either (C)PTSD or Borderline Personality Disorder, with a particular emphasis on helping clients heal from relationship traumas and adverse childhood experiences. I apply a trauma-focussed, relational, anti-oppressive, culturally-sensitive, and both a neurodivergent- and LGBTQ(+) affirming lens to my work.
Over the past 10 years, I’ve had the opportunity to work in many different areas of mental health, walking alongside people in crisis, offering short-term counselling, teaching psychoeducational courses, running DBT skills groups, and training community mental health workers. I presently run DBT skills groups and, at the Integrative Healing clinic under the license and supervision of Nisha Mohan R.P., I provide individual psychotherapy to adults 18+. I hold an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Ottawa, and am currently completing my Masters in Counselling and Psychotherapy at the University of Toronto.
I hope to build a therapeutic relationship grounded in trust, safety, and presence, so you can explore even the most tender parts of your story, knowing you'll be met with compassion and respect. I invite you to book a free 30-minute video consultation so we can meet, discuss your needs, and see if you feel comfortable taking this journey together.
A free consultation is a brief, no-pressure video call to ask questions, share what you're looking for in therapy, and get a sense of whether a therapist feels like the right fit for you. It’s the first step in our process at Integrative Healing!
Comfort with your therapist is the most important thing. You’re welcome to book consultations with more than one clinician to help you decide who you feel most at ease with. You can begin therapy after the consult, or take time to decide.
