(Previously known as RHHS Division A Science Olympiad Club)
Our mission is to spread the word about Science Olympiad, a fun and competitive organization built around the world of STEM, with opportunities for student teamwork, problem solving, and most importantly, fun! Students will expand their knowledge of science concepts through research, classroom activities and hands-on learning.
SCHOOL SPECIFIC INFORMATION
RHHS STEM MENTORS is a volunteer club in which high schoolers travel to elementary schools throughout Howard County to introduce kids in grades 3-5 to the wonders of science through fun hands-on activities and presentations, ultimately preparing them for the annual Maryland States Division A Science Olympiad competition in late April. The club offers many leadership and volunteer opportunities like writing state competition tests, being a part of organizing the annual competition, and teaching groups of young students about various science topics.
During the 2023-2024 season, our club worked with teams at Clemens Crossing ES, Gorman Crossing ES, Clarksville ES and Pointers Run ES. Each school had multiple teams, and our dedicated high school volunteers prepared 180+ students for the competition. Many students left the annual tournament with medals, smiles, and a new appreciation for STEM!
BENEFITS! Division A Science Olympiad:

- Wonderful supplement to any school's science curriculum
