Introduction
We researched 15 patents on products which have different mechanisms in place to transfer heat from the electronic components into the atmosphere. Some of them are specific solutions to the thermal systems of CubeSats, while some are more general applications and can be used on a variety of products on earth. We summarized and critiqued each patent so we can further analyze and apply these mechanisms when brainstorming ideas for our product.

By inspecting these patents, we were able to get an in depth look at both hyper-specific CubeSat focused overheating solutions as well as broader appliance based overheating solutions. Looking at such a wide variety of solutions gave us a clearer picture of the similarities and differences when it comes to cooling both spacecrafts and more common home appliances. Some of these princples can be translated into our solution as well.
