Message from Mrs Cook

And just like that, today is the end of the Summer 1 term, and what a term it has been! It has been fantastic to open our doors and have you all join us for the children’s sharing assemblies - We are so proud of the children’s confidence and showmanship but most of all their enthusiasm and pride in their learning.

There have been lots of enrichment opportunities this week with several classes out on trips; Year 1 and Year 2 had a lovely trip to Greenwich Park to support their science learning about plants, the children had the opportunity to identify flowering plants and trees. They also admired the view from the Royal Observatory and Ikechikwu was so happy because he had never been to Greenwich Park before. Teachers shared that all children represented Rockliffe Manor so positively on this outing and this was noticed by a member of the public too who tweeted us admiring the children’s curiosity, enthusiasm and friendliness.

Year 6 had a great time at Pizza Express this week, learning about the fresh ingredients that go into a pizza, food hygiene and they enjoyed trying out their own delicious creations. This experience has given the children skills and memories to look back fondly on. Year 6 also were fortunate enough to attend the Royal Festival Hall at Southbank to experience a live, classical concert - the children were mesmerised by the orchestra and thoroughly enjoyed the experience.

Our value for the next half term will be individuality, we will explore themes such as pride, humanity, open mindedness and confidence, it will be a great time to reflect on the success of this academic year and we will begin to think about moving on, for some children transitioning to their next class and for our Year 6’s transitioning to their new schools. We look forward to the term ahead and the amazing opportunities that are planned for the children.

I hope you all have a wonderful half term and we look forward to seeing you back on Monday 5th June.

With very best wishes, Mrs Cook and the Rockliffe Manor team

The Friends of Rockliffe are pleased to start planning for the Summer Fair on Saturday 8th July from 11am - 2pm.

We would like to increase our resources and maybe have a Lego/Duplo station at playtime. If any of our parents have Lego or Duplo that your child no longer plays with we would appreciate any donations.

Every Tuesday morning from 8:50am, Rockliffe will be holding a Coffee morning in the Music Room. Please feel free to pop along and join us.

Tuesday 6th June - Mrs Cook invites you all to join the coffee morning where she will share feedback from the recent Parent Survey abd the key priorities for the Summer 2 term

PE Kits - can we please remind you that all children should bring their PE Kits in to School. The children will need a pair of shorts, T-shirt and socks.

After the half term. our kitchen will be trialing a school packed lunch option as part of our school dinner menu.  Children will have the choice of our usual delicious hot meal, or to try some sandwiches, yogurts, vegetable sticks and dessert.  We will be offering this on a Tuesday and a Thursday to start with.  We would love to hear your thoughts - please collect a survey from the office to complete
