Message from Mrs Cook

And… that’s a wrap! The academic year of 2023/2024 is now over and what a year it has been. It has been amazing to reflect on all that the children have achieved this year, academically, socially and emotionally. Rockliffe Manor is committed to the development of the whole child and every child has made such fantastic progress. We have had many points of reflection throughout the week and children have shared how they have overcome challenges and celebrated their successes with their peers and the rest of the school.

This week has been packed full of fun to allow the children to make memories and say goodbye to their teachers before embarking on their next adventure in September, whether that be to the next class or to a completely different school.

Year 2 started the week going to George Mead Stables where they explored different animals and they even had a chance to feed them! The children then had a lovely picnic where they spent time sharing their favourite stories from the year. It was a lovely way to spend their last week in Year 2!

Year 5 and 6 took to Winns Common for an end of year picnic. The children enjoyed going to the park and playing together, spending time with their friends and making memories that will last a lifetime. For these children, it will be some of the last times they play altogether and they did not let it go to waste!

And it has been another busy one for Year 6! Now that we are at the end of the academic year, we have to say goodbye but rest assured they did not go without a bang! On Tuesday, the Year children shined in their leavers assembly where they reflected on their whole time here at Rockliffe Manor. The Year 6 class left us all bursting with pride and with love in our hearts. From singing to the annual awards ceremony, it has been a pleasure watching these children grow into kind, mature and thoughtful children whom we will miss very much.

As well as our Year 6 children we are also saying goodbye to some of our members of our Rockliffe Family, Mr White and Mrs Sanghara. As they both embark on their new journey of retirement, we know they will carry with them the fond memories and lasting impact they have made during their time with us. Their dedication, passion, and kindness have touched the lives of many, and their legacy will continue to inspire future generations. We wish them both happiness and fulfilment in their well-deserved retirement and hope they enjoy every moment of this new chapter in their lives.

We hope that everyone has a wonderful summer and can’t wait to see you back in September for a new year!

With very best wishes, Mrs Cook and the Rockliffe Manor team
