And just like that, the 2025/2026 academic year comes to a close!
What a year it has been at Rockliffe Manor! Looking back, it’s incredible to see just how far our children have come, not only in their learning, but in their confidence, kindness, and character. These past few weeks, our classrooms have been full of reflection as children celebrated their biggest wins, laughed over shared memories and looked back on their personal growth with pride. We are endlessly proud of everything they’ve accomplished this year.
To round off the term, the last week and a half has been packed with joyful, memorable moments. Children had the chance to celebrate, make lasting memories, and say goodbye to their teachers as they prepare for their next adventure in September, whether that’s moving up to a new class or starting at a new school.
No end-of-year celebration would be complete without our much anticipated Talent Show! What an array of talents we saw today, from musical performances and energetic dance routines to hilarious comedy acts, impressive gymnastics, and even an intricate domino track! Our children took to the stage with immense courage, creativity, and enthusiasm. What made the event truly special, though, was our incredible audience. Our children beautifully demonstrated our core values by cheering, clapping and lifting each other up, ensuring every performer felt confident and celebrated. It was a wonderful reminder of the rich, diverse talents and supportive spirit that make our Rockliffe Manor family so unique. A huge congratulations to every child who performed. You truly blew us all away!
Another special milestone has been our Nursery Graduation, where our youngest learners celebrated completing their Nursery experience at Rockliffe Manor. Dressed in their caps and gowns, they made us all incredibly proud. It was an emotional celebration of their wonderful journey so far and the exciting steps still to come in Reception, whether that be at Rockliffe or beyond.
And of course, it’s been a truly unforgettable final fortnight for our amazing Year 6 children! As they prepare to step into their next chapter, we took time to celebrate their incredible journeys and achievements. Just last week, they completely blew us away with their spectacular Hercules production! From musical numbers to unforgettable stage presence, they put their absolute all into the show. As Zeus famously reminds us, "A true hero isn't measured by the size of his strength, but by the strength of his heart," and our Year 6s proved that they have heart in abundance. They truly showed us all that they can "go the distance"!
The celebrations continued this week with a heartwarming leavers’ assembly on Monday. Their emotional rendition of "For Good" from Wicked had me tearing up as early as the rehearsals—so I can only imagine there wasn't a dry eye in the house! It was a beautiful, fitting tribute to the lifelong friendships and memories they’ve built together.
Watching them grow into such kind, mature, and thoughtful young people has been an absolute privilege. Today, as they took their final steps through our doors, we sent them off with our cherished Rockliffe Manor tradition: the Guard of Honour. Children from across the school lined the pathway, cheering and applauding to give them the send-off they so richly deserve. We will miss them dearly, alongside the families who are also closing their Rockliffe Manor chapter with us—thank you for being such a special part of our community.
In other wonderful news, we are thrilled to announce that Annie Nelson has officially been appointed as our permanent Deputy Headteacher! Having previously excelled as Assistant Headteacher and stepped up so seamlessly into the deputy role, Annie has proven time and time again just how dedicated she is to the Rockliffe Manor family. Her unwavering commitment to high-quality teaching, her passion for curating rich and varied enrichment opportunities, and her devotion to our school community are deeply valued by us all. Please join us in giving her a huge congratulations on this well-deserved success!
At the heart of everything we’ve achieved is our remarkable school community. Seeing parents, carers, staff, and children supporting one another has been a constant highlight—it truly is the golden thread that makes Rockliffe Manor so special. By living our core values every day, you have all helped nurture an environment where our pupils don't just learn, but flourish. I am truly blessed to serve as your headteacher, and I look forward to everything we will achieve together in the year ahead.
We wish you all a safe, joyful, and well-deserved summer break. Thank you for your continued partnership and support in making our school community so vibrant. Here’s to the 2026/2027 academic year—may it be filled with new adventures, lasting memories, and endless curiosity.
With very best wishes, Mrs Cook and the Rockliffe Manor team
