Message from Mrs Cook
What a wonderful array of outfit choices we saw today as we held our bring a bottle non uniform day in support of our summer fair next week. The children looked very summery and brightened up what was rather a grey day! Thank you all so much for your continued support, if you have any further bottle donations we will also be happy to receive these throughout next week, the bottle tombola is always rather popular at the fair so the more donations the better!
Despite the weather, Nursery had an amazing time this week on their trip to Danson Park! It was a nice way for the children to develop their social skills and engage in imaginative play outside of the classroom environment. All of the children were so excited to play in the splash park and embraced every second of it! Have a look on Twitter for some cute pictures! Aariz said ‘it was the best trip ever’ and Emily couldn’t stop thanking Mr Harracksingh for taking them. A huge thank you from the nursery team to the parents as their involvement and support didn’t go unnoticed.
It’s been a week of trips, as our Year 6 children went to Thamesmead Sports Centre to join in with a junior citizens workshop, during this session the children learnt about road safety, first aid, fire safety, dog safety and how to stay safe when travelling on public transport, such important skills as the children begin to be thinking about their transition into secondary school and for many travelling to and from school alone for the first time. We hope the children had lots of key takeaways!
And as the gates close today, it isn’t a usual Friday for us here at Rockliffe, as we will soon be welcoming back some very excited children, Rockliffe Manor is hosting their first ever school sleepover! Tonight year 4 will be joining Miss Roper for a pyjama party. There is a fun-filled evening of activities planned for the children before they settle down to watch a movie followed by a bedtime story and time to sleep.
Looking into next week, we also have Year 1 going to Broadstairs and Reception going to Woodlands farm. We have really tried to ensure that this year we make up for the time where trips and visits were not possible due to restrictions and will continue to develop our offer into the new academic year. You will shortly be getting a letter which identifies our minimum enrichment offer for the children at Rockliffe Manor and hope, like us, you and your children are looking forward to future outings.
Before we wish you well, we wanted the opportunity to acknowledge the recent communication following the confirmation of the two further strike days on Wednesday 5th and Friday 7th July. We recognise that there will be some frustrations around the impact of the strikes and thank you for your continued support and understanding.
With that said, we look forward to seeing you all back on Monday and hope you all have a fantastic weekend.
With very best wishes, Mrs Cook and the Rockliffe Manor team
