Message from Mrs Cook

And… that’s a wrap! The academic year of 2022/2023 is now over and what a year it has been. It has been amazing to reflect on all that the children have achieved this year, academically, socially and emotionally. Rockliffe Manor is committed to the development of the whole child and every child has made such fantastic progress. We have had many points of reflection throughout the week and children have shared how they have overcome challenges and celebrated their successes with their peers and the rest of the school.

This week has been packed full of fun to allow the children to make memories and say goodbye to their teachers before embarking on their next adventure in September, whether that be to the next class or to a completely different school. To kick the week off the children had a ‘blast’ participating in the annual water fun day activities. It is always so lovely to see the joy on the children’s faces and hear the booming laughter that fills the playground. Thank you to Miss Gilder for planning and running these sessions.

And it has been a busy one for Year 6! Now that we are at the end of the academic year, we have to say goodbye but rest assured they did not go without a bang! To kick off the festivities, our hall turned into a west end theatre for our year 6 production of Shrek. It was an incredible watch and the children embodied the characters so well. Apart from their amazing dramatic performance the children supported and encouraged each other and we saw the confidence of all performers soar. They reminded us that what makes us special makes us strong, which is something I hope they hold onto for years to come.

Year 6 also left us bursting with pride and  with love in our hearts during their leavers assembly, they shared all of their favourite memories from Rockliffe and planned a lovely surprise for Mr Smith, performing a song that told their journey from year 1 to now, what a truly wonderful way to end their assembly.

As well as our Year 6 children we are also saying goodbye to some of our members of our Rockliffe Family, Miss Basi, Ms Bywater and Mr Jules. We want to thank each and every one of them for their commitment and passion they have shown our children and community. We know that while they may not be here physically, they will always be a part of this amazing school.

We hope that everyone has a wonderful summer and can’t wait to see you back in September for a new year!

With very best wishes, Mrs Cook and the Rockliffe Manor team
