June 2024

Dear Families,

Wow! What a scorcher of a week we have had. As a reminder, please ensure children bring water bottles and sun hats to school to ensure that all children are hydrated and ventilated should the warm weather continue. Also please ensure that children's jumpers are labelled as when the children take these off we end up with a sea of blue jumpers and no names!

This half term has been all things the arts! The children kicked off their arts fortnight in style by engaging in a variety of different arts activities and workshops across the school. This year the theme of arts fortnight was Sport. Each year group interpreted the themes within the film in different ways and planned arts learning which linked to their specific area. The children connected learning in the arts and English to produce stunning outcomes. Towards the end of this half term we will be updating all of our external displays to showcase all of the fantastic learning! This month we have enjoyed hosting some of our annual sports days. The children have championed team work in the sporting events and it has been wonderful to see all of our children embodying our school values.

Thank you to everyone who attended our Eid event last week. It was fantastic to see so many of you enjoying the delicious food and entertainment on offer.  As you all know, we will be hosting our annual Foxfield Festival on Wednesday 17th July straight after school. Put the date in your diary!

As we look forward to the next academic year, we are really excited that on Wednesday 3rd July, children across the school will be meeting their teacher for the next academic year. During the afternoon, the children will spend time with their new teacher and discuss what next year will look like for them. You will also receive a letter on this day detailing your child's new class teacher. Towards the end of the half term we will write to you with arrangements for the new academic year. In September, the school term will begin for children on Thursday 5th September 2023. We look forward to welcoming all children on this day.

We continue to update our @foxfield Twitter feed daily so that you all have a regular insight into school life and the learning that takes place across year groups.
