Dear Parents and Carers,
What a fantastic way to wrap up the term! We were thrilled to welcome the inspiring author Ella Dove to Delce Academy this week; her visit sparked so much creativity and passion for storytelling across the school. Our pupils have also been busy sharing their hard work through our Global outcome showcases. Year 4 and 5 did a brilliant job presenting their outcomes to the rest of the school, while our Year 3 and 6 pupils took center stage to share their projects with Parents and Carers.
As this is our final newsletter of the term, we want to celebrate the dedication shown by all our pupils. Remember we break up on Thursday 2nd April at 2pm! We hope you have a safe and restful break, and we look forward to seeing everyone refreshed and ready for the new term on Monday 20th April!
Kind regards,
Miss North

Spotlight on Success: Celebrating Our Children
Mistakes aren't roadblocks, they’re stepping stones. We’re shining a light on the incredible perseverance our students are showing as they tackle new challenges. We’re honouring the perseverance we see in every corner of the schoolfrom the playground to the classrooms!
Our Core Value this term: Perseverance
Perseverance is like building a muscle; it often feels heavy and difficult because you are asking your brain and body to do something they aren’t used to yet. When we stick with a task, even when we want to give up, it shows that we have grit and the courage to grow. By pushing through that initial "tough" phase, we prove that our goals are bigger than our frustrations.
It builds confidence: Overcoming a challenge makes the next one feel smaller.
It rewires the brain: Every time you try again, you’re strengthening "learning pathways."
It defines character: It shows that you value progress over perfection.
This week, Year 3 have been learning coding and creating mazes for our character to move. It has been challenging but also rewarding when it all comes together.
This week, Year 4 delivered a global outcome assemby to Year 3. We told them all about biomes, a polar biome and read instructions on how to survive. We even tested their knowledge with an interactive quiz at the end!
Blast off! Year 5 reached for the stars this week during the Astronomy Roadshow. We explored the wonders of our universe, from swirling galaxies to the rugged surfaces of distant planets. This immersive experience sparked incredible curiosity and brought our "Space" curriculum to life. The sky is clearly not the limit!
In Year 6 this term we have been learning about the Christian faith. We have learnt about the importance of prayer and leading a good life for Christians. This inspired us to reflect on the choices we make in our own lives and the consequences of choices we make. We designed our own path reflecting both good and bad choices and what this meant to us personally.
Jackson class created their own biomes as part of our Geography and Science learning, We choose plants that could live in a damp environment such as moss and we planted them with grit so the soil is not sitting in the water and charcole to clean the soil. Our plants cannot be in direct sunlight as the will get too hot and the pots will sweat. Adams class enjoyed a workshop about the planets as part of their Science learning.
Every week, children are expected to engage in four core areas of study:
Arithmetic Skills: Children will be given math questions specifically linked to the topics they have been studying in class that week to help solidify their numerical fluency.
Weekly Spellings: Lists will be sent home each week. Children should practice these regularly in preparation for a spelling test the following week.
Daily Reading: We ask that children read at home for at least 15 minutes every day. This can be independent or with an adult. Please remember to sign the reading record book..
Termly Curriculum Grid: Each term, children receive a "Choice Grid" featuring various activities linked to their wider curriculum subjects (History, Science & Art etc). Children should select one task to complete each week.
SEND: A message SENCO Mr Palmer
Mr. Palmer's Strategy of the Week!
Do you find that the busy Easter Holidays often mean children find it hard to transition between activities and items?
Set up a simple 'Now and Next' board so children are aware of what is happening and what will come next. This will help with transitions and help the children to move from one acitivity to another.
Wishing the following children a Happy Birthday for those who have their birthday over the next few weeks!

A huge thank you to Rev. Folake from St. Justus Church for visiting us today! She shared the beautiful story of Lent, teaching us that "giving something up" is often about making space to give to others. We explored how 40 days of consistency can turn a small act of kindness into a lifelong habit.
Selflessness: Sacrificing a luxury to provide a necessity for others.
The 40-Day Rule: How repetition builds a lasting habit of discipline.
Community Connection: Strengthening the bond between St. Justus and our school.
Please see workshops being run by the local authority around supporting your child. Please sign up on the QR codes. Please let Mr Palmer know if you are having any problems.
