Respect Collaboration Kindness Perseverance Honesty Responsibility
Dear Delce Family,
As we reach the end of a busy and exciting term, we want to reflect on all the wonderful achievements and events that have brought us together as a school community. This term has been filled with learning, growth and celebrations. Our students have demonstrated resilience and creativity in their studies and embraced the Delce values with enthusiasm. It has been a joy to see their hard work and achievements shine in so many ways.
This week we enjoyed our Christmas performances, the children were feeling extremely proud of themselves, they really appreciated all the adults who came to watch them and support them, it made it all the more merrier. To add to the festivities, the children enjoyed a wonderful pantomime, oh yes they did!
As we close this term, we are reminded of the importance of togetherness and joy during the festive season. Thank you for your continued support and involvement in making our school a thriving community.
We wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. Have a restful and joyful holiday, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back in the new term, ready for more exciting opportunities and learning adventures!
Best wishes from the Delce Team!
Our Core Value this term: Collaboration
What is collaboration?
This skill is invaluable for children, as it teaches respect, teamwork and good communication. We encourage parents to talk with their children about how they can demonstrate collaboration—at school, with friends and in the wider community.
Together we stand, hand in hand,
Building dreams across the land.
Each voice matters, every role,
Working together to reach our goal.
With listening ears and helping hands,
We find solutions, we understand.
Through respect and trust, we thrive,
Making our world a better place to live.
So let us join, both big and small,
For collaboration strengthens us all.
Let’s continue to inspire teamwork and cooperation, both in school and beyond! 🌟

What a fantastic term we have had, you have all worked incredibly hard. This week we have showcased our curriculum learning, where we focused on The Stone Age and how they are a sustainable society.
Have a wonderful Christmas Break and we will see you in 2025!🎄
This week, Year 4 had a return visit from Medway Rotary Club. They were delighted to receive the shoe boxes filled with all the donations from kind families at Delce Academy. The Rotary Club explained that the shoe boxes are going to people who are less fortunate and do not receive any gifts due to circumstances such as war. This links with this term's learning on refugees, evacuees and peace and conflict. Year 4 asked many interesting questions about what happens next.
In Year 5, the children have worked hard on closing off all of their topics this term. They have worked incredibly hard on their double page spreads in Geography. It has been lovely looking at how they have displayed their learning this term showing off their knowledge of agriculture of the UK and Louisiana.
Year 6 have had an amazing term, well done everyone!
We have been reading Stella by Starlight and have used this text to become journalists, publish a newspaper article, write a formal letter to the President and complete artwork in the style of Sam Cannon whilst reflecting on inspirational quotes and what they mean to us.
We would like to wish everybody a very Merry Christmas and look forward to seeing you all next year.
DEC have enjoyed our Christmas events this week; film, disco, pantomime and crafting. It was lovely to see so many parents at our craft afternoon. We hope everyone enjoys their time off, we will miss you. See you in the New Year 2025

Complaints procedures
At Delce, we aim to meet our statutory obligations when responding to complaints from our parents. Parents should follow our Complaints Policy that explains the procedures that should be followed.
Stage 1: Informal
The complainant should raise the complaint as soon as possible with the relevant member of staff or the headteacher as appropriate, either in person or by letter, telephone or email. If the complainant is unclear who to contact or how to contact them, they should contact the school office.
If the complaint is not resolved informally, it will be escalated to a Stage 2 formal complaint. The school will maintain a log of informal complaints and review this on a termly basis.
Stage 2: Formal
If the issue cannot be resolved through informal action the complainant should inform the headteacher in writing. This letter will be acknowledged within three working days. Formal complaints must be reported the local governing body. The local governing body must then be kept informed about progress and outcomes. This letter should provide details such as relevant dates, times, and the names of witnesses of events, alongside copies of any relevant documents. The complainant should also state what they feel would resolve the complaint.
For more details visit our website.
