Dear Parents and Carers,
As we approach the end of another incredibly busy and productive term, I wanted to take a moment to reflect. Our classrooms and corridors have been buzzing with energy, and I am delighted with the curriculum outcomes we have seen across all year groups. The children have truly excelled and should be very proud of their hard work.
As we look ahead to Term 3, I am thrilled to announce some new additions to our school family. Please join me in giving a very warm welcome to:
Miss Islam, who joins our teaching team.
Miss Webb, our new Pastoral Assistant.
Miss Fewtrell, who joins us as a HLTA.
We are excited to have them on board and know they will be fantastic assets to our staff and your children’s learning journey.
None of our success would be possible without your continued partnership. Whether it’s helping with homework, attending school events, or simply ensuring your children arrive ready to learn, your support is deeply appreciated by the entire staff team.
Finally, I would like to wish all of our families a very Merry Christmas and a restful festive break. I hope you enjoy this special time with your loved ones, and we look forward to seeing everyone refreshed and ready for the new term in January.
Warmest wishes,
Miss North

Record of Achievement
Collaboration and kindness are key! Huge well done to these brilliant Delce Academy children for being such fantastic role models in their work and behaviour. Lead the way!
A massive shout-out to our three speedy mathletes who achieved the fastest Times Tables Rock Stars (TTRS) times in the whole school this week! You are true TTRS legends and your practise is seriously paying off. Keep on rocking those facts!
We love seeing the whole school get involved!
This week's top-using class will get to enjoy a fun, special math activity session.
Classes who have made fantastic progress in their usage and accuracy are also earning extra Active Maths Time to celebrate their hard work!
Our Core Value this term: Collaboration
Collaboration Sparks Communication!
Working together helps children practice active listening, express their ideas clearly, negotiate and understand different perspectives. It's the perfect environment for them to grow into confident and effective communicators!
This week Year 3 have enjoyed creating and writing their double page spread for our Topic History. They wrote about the Stone Age, Bronze Age and the Iron Age. As you can see they have learnt so much.
This week Year 4 welcomed back the Rotary club, who were delighted to receive our filled shoe boxes for the children and families in Europe affected by war and devastation. We were presented with a certificate of thanks from them.
Year 5 have worked hard this week to write their formal persuasive letter to the Indonesian govenrment. They were writing from the perspective of Will from Running Wild and were convincing the government to give urgent help to the victims of a devasting tsunami. The children used a number of different persuasive texts such as facts, exaggeration, repetition, rhetorical questions, modal verbs and conjunctions.
To celebrate their final Christmas holidays at Delce, the Year 6 children made their very own memento to remember Delce for years to come. The children created their own salt dough by mixing flour and salt, with a small bit of water. The children then completed their ornament by pushing their handprint into the dough to create a lasting memory. The children have very much enjoyed the start to their final year at primary school!
This week DEC enjoyed Christmas jumper day and Christmas dinner we all sat together and pulled crackers. We also enjoyed watching a Christmas film with popcorn and hot chocolate, Christmas disco and family craft afternoon. We hope you all have a lovely Christmas and add to tapestry anything the children will want to share with their friends when they are back on Monday 5th January.
SEND
A message from our SENCO, Mr Palmer...
Mr. Palmer's Strategy of the Week!
Do you find as the holidays start your child becomes more overwhelmed and finds the time more challenging?
Have a couple of days after school finishes as down time to allow them to rest and recover from the fatigue of the school term. This will help them to then build resilience again for the ovewhelming nature of Christmas
Wishing the following children a Happy Birthday for those who have their birthday over the next three weeks!
