Dear Parents and Carers,
We have had a fantastic week, starting with a huge thank you to everyone who joined our successful Jumble Café to support the local community. A special mention goes to our Year 6 children who had a wonderful time on their residential trip and a massive thank you to the dedicated teachers and staff who gave up their time to accompany them and make the trip so memorable! Looking ahead, we have Parents' Evening next week and we are really looking forward to discussing the children's first half term with you. As we head into next week, please can we work together to remind children about the importance of arriving at school on time each day. Don’t forget that a range of poppy items are now available to purchase in school to support service families and we wish you all a wonderful, relaxing weekend!
Best wishes
Miss North

As part of this partnership, we are working with an Education Welfare Officer, Tina Morris, who will support our staff and families in ensuring all children have the best possible opportunity to succeed.
We look forward to working with the team to continue supporting our Pupils' education and well-being.
Merit Awards
Celebrating all the amazing children recognised today for putting in their best effort!
Our Core Value this term: Respect
Consistently value the ideas, opinions and feelings of others
Be aware of and care for others, their environment and the world around them
A healthy community isn't built on agreeing with everyone, it’s built on respecting everyone. When we stand up for each other's rights and treat every voice with dignity, we all thrive.
Harvest Festival
We are incredibly grateful to all our families for your generous support with our Harvest collection for the Medway Foodbank.
Taking time to talk with your children about these small acts of kindness is a wonderful way to nurture their empathy and deepen their understanding of the wider world.
To start the new academic year, we have re launched TTRS at Delce Academy. We listened to our students who are 'Rock heroes', finding out how they improved their timestables scores and why timestables are so important. We are all very excited about our TTRS Rock Day on Friday 16th October, let's rock!
Parents play a vital role in helping children build that all-important math confidence at home. Spending just 3 to 5 minutes a day on Times Tables Rock Stars can make a massive difference in your child's speed and accuracy.
You don't need to be a maths whiz to get involved, simply asking them about their current avatar, celebrating their personal bests, or even challenging them to a quick rock battle in the 'Rock Slam' mode is a fantastic way to show support. By encouraging regular practice, you are helping them unlock key skills that support their learning across the entire curriculum. Let’s work together to make this year our most successful and musical one yet!
In Year 3, we have been focusing on addition numbers across both the ones and tens columns, taking time to carefully align their digits and understand the value of each place holder. They have shown great perseverance when exchanging across columns, applying their knowledge to solve increasingly complex calculations with growing confidence.
In Year 4, we have been focusing on writing and publishing our narratives, based on our core text,Azzi In Between. We included Fronted Adverbials, Expanded Noun Phrases, Show not Tell for emotion and statutory spellings. It was fantastic to read what the children had written!
Year 5 have been having an amazing time in their tech music lessons! They've been diving into iPad music software, mixing beats and layering sounds like total pros and they are bursting with pride over the fantastic tracks they’ve created.
This week many chldren from year 6 have been enjoying their residential trip. The children who remained in school have been having lots of fun too! We have completed engineering learning and built our own bridges which we tested with a variety of weights. Sadly, not all the bridges were a success but we continued to develop our learning to improve them. We have also become scientists and built our own replicas of the human skeleton. Then we even became explorers and used our orienteering skills to solve a trasure hunt around the school grounds.
This week in PE, children worked on their good sportsmanship skills while playing bench ball. Children congratulated eachother for trying their best and for completing tricky plays. Children also chanted the name of pupils to show their support. Communication was also a key focus. Everyone had to communicate with each other to ensure that each child knew when a ball was being thrown to them.
SEND: A message SENCO Mr Palmer
Mr. Palmer's Strategy of the Week!
Are you finding that the initial excitement of September has worn off, leaving your child struggling with fatigue or emotional meltdowns as they settle into their school routine?
Establish predictable evening routines and early bedtimes to combat post-school exhaustion.
Provide quiet, low-demand recovery time straight after school before discussing their day.
Share any emerging anxieties or sensory struggles with school staff to ensure consistent support.
Wishing the following children a Happy Birthday over the next two weeks!

At Delce Academy, we believe that celebrating good attendance fosters motivation, pride and success for every child. Every school day counts and being in class consistently helps children build strong friendships, stay engaged and reach their full potential.
To support our school community, Delce Academy works closely with TEAM EWS, an independent Education Welfare Service. Our dedicated Education Welfare Officer (EWO) is a vital part of our school team, working alongside staff, parents and carers to encourage positive attendance habits and remove any barriers to coming to school.
How the EWO Supports Our Families:
Support & Guidance: Life can throw unexpected challenges our way. Our EWO is here to work directly with families who may be struggling with school attendance or punctuality, offering practical support, early guidance and help finding solutions tailored to your family's needs.
Understanding Causes: Whether it is health, anxiety, routine adjustments, or wider family support needs, the EWO helps identify the root causes of absences so we can put the right help in place together.
Building Good Habits: Beyond celebrating top attendance, the EWO monitors attendance trends across the school to help every child maintain a healthy routine.
Attendance is a partnership between school and home. If you are experiencing difficulties getting your child to school regularly or on time, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at Delce Academy our team and EWO are always here to help you navigate any challenges!
Thank you to our amazing pastoral team, who have worked so hard with the school community to collect donations this year. Ahead of the coming colder weather, our focus has been on gathering coats to support local families. Your dedication and generosity make a huge difference in keeping our community warm!
