A discovery! Traces of pollution under the ground in the park of Sant Martí
A couple of years ago, a high concentration of pollutants was found on the ground, which exceeded the thresholds set for urban uses. Analyzes were made at 13 points in space. A few examples of the pollutants found were: pesticides, hydrocarbons and an inmense amount of lead. The government decided to close the park, dig out all of the pollution and replace the soil with a brand new one. They also wanted to take out all the plants, to check if they were also infected by the pollution or not.
