Marilyn Monroe was a strong human rights activist. She also became the second woman in U.S. history to own her own production company.
It was very important because it fought for women’s rights, at a time when they hardly had any and women were pushed to use their sexuality as a tool in cinema.
Monroe was considered one of the most beautiful women, but she was not happy because people only approached her out of interest and this caused her to end up committing suicide. That is why her life in general inspired many women to challenge authority as she did and this contributed greatly to the revolution against sexist abuse.
