Eleonora Cara
Scientific Activity:
Eleonora Cara graduated in Physics of Advanced Technologies at the University of Turin in 2015. In 2019, she received her PhD in Metrology cum Laude at the Polytechnic University of Turin. Her PhD project focused on the development of self-assembled 3D plasmonic nanostructures, using nanospheres lithography and chemical etching process, for surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy. In 2018, she spent six months at the German national metrology institute, PTB, as a visiting PhD student to work on mass quantification by reference-free X-ray fluorescence in the group of X-ray spectrometry at BESSY II synchrotron facility.
Currently she is a researcher and technologist at INRiM, the Italian national metrology institute, contributing to the management of PiQuET infrastructure and working in the group of Advanced Materials and Devices where she works on macromolecular self-assembling patterning and physical and chemical vapor deposition methods for the realization of nanostructured materials with interest to plasmonics applications and gas sensing.
She has received the Young Researcher Award from two symposia (ALTECH2021 and N) at the EMRS Spring Meeting 2021. She is a member of the Italian Association of Macromolecules and she is author and co-author of more than 15 peer-reviewed papers and 1 patent.
