Chicago Southland Learning Center for Teen Self-Discovery, Wellness, Innovation, & Leadership
InnerQuest (IQ) Academy is a small, purpose-driven microschool designed as a co-curricular learning center that serves young men in grades 8-12 in the Chicago Southland area who are capable and motivated but underserved by traditional educational models.
Our program offers a personalized, cohort-based learning environment that integrates identity development, wellness, social-emotional skill building, executive functioning, leadership, emerging AI economy, entrepreneurship and real-world learning experiences.
IQ Academy is designed for students who thrive in smaller settings and benefit from deeper relationships, individualized instruction, and meaningful engagement with their learning.
The IQ co-curricular program operates on a full academic-year calendar and serves young men in grades 8–12.
Enrollment is intentionally limited to ensure low student-to-staff ratios and to allow for individualized mentorship and instructional support in-person. Students participate in an after-school format two days weekly (Tues. & Thurs.) that includes academic seminars, interdisciplinary project work, one-on-one mentoring, and structured reflection.

InnerQuest Academy uses an application process for admission to ensure the program is the right fit for each student and the InnerQuest community. Because enrollment is limited, applications are reviewed through a holistic assessment, with a $25 application fee required upon submission.
To begin the application process, first complete our Interest Form or attend one of our weekly info sessions to meet the InnerQuest Academy co-founders and learn more about the program. If it appears to be a good mutual fit, you will then be invited to complete and submit the official application for consideration.
