By 5th grade, students should be reading 30 minutes a night. However, they should be reading interesting material. If the book isn't interesting, is too difficult, or too easy, they will not improve their reading levels. Students should have a chapter book from the class, but if they forgot it, are bored with it, or just need something new, here are some options for you!
After the students read a Raz Kids or Epic book, have them do the quiz after!
After a student reads, if it's a personal book, ask them some comprehension questions to deepen their reading skills:
Summarize what they read
What the main idea is
What makes the main character special
Which character do they like the best, and why.
Why is the setting, plot, or character important?
Have your child check their email for their password!
Students should be able to log in with their Google Account
