Competition Regulations

1. Competition Objectives

• Promote dance culture and elevate dance techniques and performance levels.

• Provide a platform for dancers to showcase their talents and exchange experiences.

• Encourage creativity and teamwork.

2. Competition Dates and Venues

• Dates: September 12, 13, and October 4, 2026

• Venues:

  • Kowloon City Plaza Atrium (128 Carpenter Road, Kowloon City) - September 12 & 13

  • FES Hub, Jordan, Kowloon - October 4

3. Competition Categories

A. Age Groups

• Age is calculated as of August 6, 2026 (as the registration deadline is August 7).

• Kindergarten: 4-6 years old (Born Aug 7, 2019 – Aug 6, 2022)

• Children: 7-9 years old (Born Aug 7, 2016 – Aug 6, 2019)

• Junior: 10-13 years old (Born Aug 7, 2012 – Aug 6, 2016)

• Youth: 14-18 years old (Born Aug 7, 2007 – Aug 6, 2012)

B. Group Size Categories

• Solo: 1 person

• Duo: 2 people

• Trio/Quartet: 3 - 4 people

• Group A: 5 - 8 people

• Group B: 9 - 12 people

• Group C: 13 - 20 people

4. Dance Types

1. Children's Dance [Only for Kindergarten category, ages 4-6]

2. Contemporary Dance

3. Ballet

4. Chinese Dance

5. Jazz

6. Street Dance (K-Pop, Hip Hop, etc.)

7. Acrobatic Dance

5. Eligibility

1. Participants must meet the respective age requirements, calculated as of August 6, 2026.

2. All participants must submit identification documents to verify their age.

3. For group performances, the age category is determined by the age of the oldest participant.

6. Registration Procedures

1. Registration Deadline: August 7, 2026

2. Early Bird Deadline: July 15, 2026

3. Method: Online submission of the registration form.

4. Upload the music file (MP3 format).

5. Submit the dance choreography synopsis and prop usage application form.

7. Competition Rules

A. Performance Time Limits

• Solo (1 person): 2 minutes

• Duo (2 people): 2 minutes

• Trio/Quartet (3-4 people): 2 minutes

• Group A (5-8 people): 2 minutes 30 seconds

• Group B (9-12 people): 3 minutes

• Group C (13-20 people): 3 minutes 30 seconds

B. Props & General Rules

• Props: Must be brought by participants and limited to simple designs (Maximum dimensions: Height 170cm, Width 120cm, Depth 80cm).

• Prohibited Items: Liquids, bubbles, or any items that may contaminate the venue.

• Music: Must not contain profanity or offensive content; violations may result in point deductions or disqualification.

• Costumes: Must fit the style of the selected dance type.

C. Stage Dimensions

1. Kowloon City Plaza: Divided into upper and lower stages. The upper stage connects to an LED Wall, while the lower stage is on the ground, level with the audience and judging panel.

   • Upper Stage: 9.6m (L) x 2.4m (W) x 1m (H)

   • Lower Stage: 9.6m (L) x 2.4m (W)

2. FES Hub Stage: 6.7m (L) x 6.7m (W)

8. Competition Fees

(Calculated per participant)

• Solo (1 person): HKD 630.00

• Duo (2 people): HKD 580.00

• Trio/Quartet (3-4 people): HKD 480.00

• Group A (5-8 people): HKD 360.00

• Group B (9-12 people): HKD 320.00

• Group C (13-20 people): HKD 320.00

• Early Bird Offer: Register on or before July 15, 2026, to receive a $50 discount per team.

9. Judging Criteria

• Technical Performance (35%)

• Creativity and Choreography (30%)

• Stage Presence (20%)

• Overall Effect (15%)

10. Awards

• Excellence, Gold, Silver, and Bronze awards will be given in each category.

• Special awards include Best Choreography and Best Costume.

• For Dance Studios: Outstanding Participation Award and Best Performing Group Award.

11. Important Notes

• Participants must comply with all venue regulations. Failure to do so may result in disqualification.

• Live audiences are required to purchase tickets for admission.
