The book that I’d recommend for Indivisible MOV is How to Defend Books: Why Book Bans Happen and How We Fight Them by Danny Caine. He also wrote How to Resist Amazon and Why: The Fight for Local Economics, Data Privacy, Fair Labor, Independent Bookstores, and a People-Powered Future!
I think How to Defend Books would be especially relevant given the ongoing fights around censorship, intellectual freedom, and access to books in our communities. I mean, as we’ve seen and experienced, book bans and censorship occur right here in Wood County, and across the nation. It will also provide folks at Indivisible MOV some really creative ways to fight back and push back against censorship.
How to Defend Books also covers book bans in prisons and jails across the country, and soon I’ll roll out the ability for folks to donate and purchase books for the Appalachian Prison Book Project, and encourage folks to donate directly to them-

I also want to share that Rebel Hive will be offering 20% off everything in our store online, at our pop-ups, and at Silent Bookclubs. Of course, the September book Song for A Hard-Hit People is still available, and it’s also 20% off. If you're a union member or veteran, you will also get 15% off!
