Pay attention to the roots of oppression at the level of secondary academic training. These are the professionals that come to the institutions, with particular knowledge and points of view that may or may not be harmful to historically underserved and invisibilized communities. You may have been trained in a similar fashion or had similar experiences as described in this audio.

We want to be aware of these systemic issues that create harm, and in that way we build our capacity and “tools of discernment: in which to recognize, interrupt, unsettle, and replace settler logics and strategies with decolonized logics and strategies in order to uplift all lives and the earth, and build stronger self-determined Indigenous communities.
