Privacy Policy – TV Remote Control
Effective date: October 15, 2026
Indie Level Studio ("we", "us") built the TV Remote Control app ("the app") for Android. This policy explains how the app handles your information. In short: the app does not collect, store on any server, share or sell any personal data.
1. Information we collect
None. The app has no accounts, no ads, no analytics, no crash reporting and no third-party SDKs. It does not send any information to us or to any third party, and we run no servers that the app connects to.
2. How the app works
Your phone talks directly to your TV over your local Wi-Fi network. Commands such as button presses, volume changes and text typed with the keyboard feature go straight from your phone to your TV. They do not pass through the internet and are not recorded.
To find TVs, the app sends discovery messages (SSDP) on your local network. To turn some TVs on, it sends a Wake-on-LAN packet on that same network.
3. Information stored on your device
So you don't have to pair again every time, the app saves the following only on your phone:
- The name, IP address, brand and network (MAC) address of the TVs you connect to
- The pairing key or security certificate your TV issues when you accept the connection
This information never leaves your phone. It is excluded from cloud backups and device-to-device transfers. You can delete it at any time by removing a saved TV in the app, clearing the app's storage, or uninstalling the app.
4. Permissions
The app asks only for the permissions it needs to reach your TV on the local network:
- Internet (network access): to connect to your TV on your local network
- Wi-Fi state: to check that you are connected to Wi-Fi
- Wi-Fi multicast: to discover TVs on your network
The app does not access your contacts, location, camera, microphone, photos or files.
5. Sharing of information
We do not share, sell or transfer any information, because the app does not collect any.
6. Google Play
The app is distributed through Google Play. Google may collect information, such as install and crash statistics, under its own privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy. We do not control that collection.
7. Children's privacy
The app does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.
8. Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we will post the new version on this page and update the effective date above.
