PMEA District 8 is seeking session proposals for our upcoming Professional Development Day on October 12, 2026 in Milton, PA. We are looking for engaging, practical sessions that provide meaningful takeaways for music educators across a variety of teaching settings and experience levels. Session proposal applications are due by August 14, 2026.
Priority will be given to sessions that can benefit a broad range of music teachers, while we also welcome ensemble and content-specific sessions in areas such as:
Band
Orchestra
Chorus
Elementary General Music
Modern Band
Music Technology
Advocacy and Recruitment
Classroom Management
Assessment and Curriculum
Student Engagement and Retention
We encourage proposals that are practical, interactive, and directly applicable to today’s music classrooms and rehearsal spaces.
Potential session formats may include:
Traditional presentations
Reading sessions
Demonstrations
Panel discussions
Roundtable conversations
Sessions will be scheduled in 50-minute blocks throughout the day.
