Recording & Submission
Pre-record your audition. For recording tips, watch the How to Prepare for Your PMEA Audition video below.
Upload each musical selection as its own video to YouTube (or another platform) and set it to “unlisted” so it’s viewable by anyone with the link.
Submit up to six (6) video links using the Google Form found on this site.
Video Requirements
Your arms, fingers, and head must be clearly visible.
Do not wear identifying clothing (no school, PMEA, NAfME All-Eastern, or national shirts).
Do not include identifying information in the video file name or within the recording.
Earbuds and headphones are not permitted.
Timeline
Record and submit between October 1, 2025 and 11:59 p.m. on November 22, 2025.
Audition Content
Demonstrate facility in a variety of styles such as Pop, Rock, Hip Hop, R&B, Country, or Metal.
Singing is optional for instrumentalists, but a short vocal excerpt is recommended; students may accompany themselves.
To be considered on additional instruments, submit extra links—your primary choice should appear in the first two.
Eligibility & Verification
Open to any PMEA District 8 student in grades 9–12, even if the school has no Modern Band program.
A PMEA District 8 teacher sponsor is required.
The sponsoring director must review the audition to verify that the recording reflects the student’s actual performance level.

Additional forms and information will be requested upon acceptance.
There is no audition fee.
